The HEDS-55xx/56xx and HEDM-55xx/56xx are high-performance, low-cost, two and three-channel optical incremental encoders designed for reliable, high-resolution motion detection. They feature easy assembly and are suitable for high-volume applications. The encoders consist of a lensed LED source, an integrated circuit with detectors and output circuitry, and a codewheel. Outputs include two square waves in quadrature (Channels A and B), with an optional third channel index output (Channel I) that provides a pulse once per full codewheel rotation.
