DS18B20 Programmable Resolution 1-Wire Temperature Sensor

The DS18B20 is a digital thermometer providing 9 to 12-bit resolution temperature measurements, with a programmable non-volatile alarm setting for upper and lower temperature thresholds. It communicates via a single-wire interface, requiring only one data pin and a ground connection. The device operates within a temperature range of -55C to +125C (-67F to +257F) and offers an accuracy of 0.4C within the -10C to 70C range. It supports parasitic power mode, drawing power directly from the data line, eliminating the need for an external power supply. Each DS18B20 features a unique 64-bit serial number, allowing multiple devices to be connected in a multi-drop configuration on the same bus, controlled by a single processor. This makes it suitable for distributed temperature sensing over large areas.
