The LITE-ON LTR-X1503 is an integrated low-voltage I2C ambient light sensor (ALS) and proximity sensor (PS) with a built-in emitter, all within a miniature chipLED lead-free surface mount package. It offers a linear response over a wide dynamic range for ambient light detection, suitable for varying brightness conditions. The integrated proximity sensor allows for user-configurable detection distances and features a programmable interrupt with hysteresis, enhancing system efficiency by eliminating the need for constant polling. Its CMOS design and factory-set trimming ensure minimal sensor-to-sensor variation, facilitating ease of manufacturability. Applications include display panel brightness control and object detection in mobile, computing, and consumer devices.
